Basin and Range gets new content and a new website in 2022.

Just the other day I wrote down some thoughts on where B&R has been since Covid-19 and why I felt like it was time to get back to work. Boiled down: if Covid has taught us anything, it’s that the value of connecting with each other in real and meaningful ways is necessary and worthwhile. With Basin & Range I want to resume the work of bringing a large community of people together: those who are interested in traveling the Western US, experiencing the adventure of outdoor recreation, and discovering the personalities who help create the culture of the West. And so with that said, here’s what you can expect from Basin & Range in 2022.

New Content

The cornerstones of Basin & Range have always been Culture, Adventure, and Travel. But as we all evolve past Covid here’s what you can expect from Basin & Range in 2022. Read below for more detail about what that will look like.

Overland & RV Lifestyle

As Covid impacted 2020 and forced hotels and airlines to scale back, many of us had to reevaluate what it meant to safely get out of the house and take a break from work. In record numbers people turned to RVs, car camping, backcountry camping, and the newest option on the scene: Overlanding.

At Basin & Range, we plan to explore this topic more with you more in 2022. For starters, the magazine will sponsor a new Overland style vehicle buildup with posts on YouTube and Instagram. We’ll cover the whole process from start to finish and give you an idea of what goes into this adventurous style of car camping. In addition, we’ll cover more of the Recreational Vehicle (RV) lifestyle with news, tips & tricks and more.

Interior/Exterior Design

We love to find indoor and outdoor spaces that combine the rustic aesthetic of the West with the clean lines of modern design. Sometimes we find that unique style in the simple outdoor gardens of the desert southwest, or a beautiful piece of furniture, or maybe the architecture of a whole home. Whenever and wherever we find these unique characteristics, we will take a moment and highlight these special places & things. In addition, we intend to share our own design style with you through a collaboration with sister brand: ReWest Designs. Through that collaboration we will get a chance to express our creative side and bring you some work of our own.

New Website

In addition to some exciting new content, I am also looking forward to bringing you an updated look for B&R. The current design is 6+ years old and in need of modernization. Through that we will have some fun with expressing our design style as well as improve its readability across platforms.
