Uinta announces new Park Series Golden Ale dedicated to the US National Park System

Uinta Brewing’s Park Series Golden Ale is dedicated to the US’s 58 National Parks and features several different cans commemorating a few of the more iconic locations.  The Salt Lake City, Utah based brewery, which identifies itself as “a brand powered by adventure,” teamed up with the Anderson Design Group of Nashville, TN to design the artwork.  Each can’s design will be a limited release – highlighting Yosemite, Arches, Yellowstone, Great Smoky Mountains, Acadia, Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountain, and the Evergrlades – which a potential for more designs.

Though Uinta is calling the launch its “Golden Ale Rotating Park Series,” the rotation is really in the labels design and not the recipe.  The beer is billed as a “…year round refresher, light bodied with crisp a subtle sweetness.”  This sessionable style ale (and it’s aluminum packaging) is intended to be drinkable during adventures in the great outdoors.  The Golden Ale is relatively low in alcohol with a 5.0% ABV, contains Carapils and Crystal malts, and is moderately hopped with Willamette and Sterling hops for IBU rating of a mellow 21.

Uinta Brewing said their proximity to several of Utah’s National Parks inspired the project which has been on the brewery’s backburner for several years.

“Many of the explorations that have inspired our beers have happened in and around National Parks […] We’re fortunate to have five National Parks within five hours of the brewery, and hope that our Golden Ale encourages consumers to get out and explore those that surround them.” Uinta CEO Steve Mills

In the video above, Isaac Winter, head brewer and head of R&D for Uinta discusses the craft beer against the backdrop of Arches National Park near Moab, Utah.  The video echoes much of the brewery’s inspiration has come from their accessibility to several National Parks and the outdoors.  The Golden Ale Park Series just launched February 2017 and will be available in six-packs of 12-ounce cans in 37 states.
